Two
green army trucks pulled up and they were loaded with troops that held ak-47
assault rifles. They circled the plane and the officer started asking them
questions and then told them to get off the plane. They got off and they ate a
little bit of dinner. Then they were taken for interrogation. Then the next day
they interrogated Shane again. Then some American officials came and demanded
they be release. They were released and could go home again. When they got back
home the crew was awarded the Air Medal while Shane was awarded the
Distinguished Cross and he and Mellos received the Meritorious Service Medal.
