Interviewing for the Navy

In Shane’s last year of high school, while still recovering from his injury, he interviewed for both the navy and the air force. He did great on the interviews and the tests and also had some great letters of recommendation also, but in the end other high school seniors got selected in front of Shane. Although the news was crushing, he got an invitation to the U.S. military academy at West Point. The tuition would be free because it was a service academy, but the army didn’t fly planes he thought, so he had to decline. Once again his dreams were down the drain, but three weeks later he got a four-year scholarship to the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps to any school that offered the program. He was on his way to making his dream a reality.
